Payment Protection Insurance (also known as ‘loan protection’ or ‘PPI’), is a product that is usually sold to people who have taken out loan(s), mortgage(s) and credit card(s). PPI is a very expensive added cost (premium) that will have had to be paid along with your monthly repayments, and with the accrued interest (usually very high %).
This policy was sold told to you with or without your knowledge under the assurance that if for any unforeseen circumstances you were unable to make your regular payments you were covered by this PPI policy. Many thousands of people were incorrectly informed or pressured into adding PPI on their finances. To the extent that a significant amount of people were unaware that they were paying PPI.
However most recently the banks in Ireland have been ordered by the regulator to review PPI sales for the last 6 years, and to refund customers where mis-selling is discovered. The Irish regulators have adopted a very similar policy to the UK regulator, whereby the PPI mis-selling saga has become the biggest financial scandal the UK has seen, with banks having to payout millions in compensation.

How Much Do We Charge?

If we successfully claim €2000 for you, then 20% is €400. The VAT amount would be 20% of €400 which equals €80. Therefore the total service fee would be €480.
